It seems I may have fallen asleep for a month. At last I’ve got a video for my song Peatrification in Perpetuum. It’s the final track from Bog Bodies and in it, I lose myself in the melody, imagining I’m suspended for eternity in a nice peat bog somewhere. The peat is preserving me perfectly for when I’m inevitably dug up to be put on display to the world in a few thousand years.
In the video I’m playing in front of a gold lace backdrop which if I use my imagination, reminds me of the gassy bubbles found in a peat bog. While I’m playing I’m thinking about how many of the Bog Bodies were placed with such care into the bog, despite their sometimes extremely brutal end. The peat enveloped them and preserved them in a way that they almost seemed suspended in time. How many more are out there suspended in perfect preservation waiting to be discovered as a peatrified time capsule?
It would be lovely if you’d visit the video at YouTube, especially if you like it and give me a thumbs up or better still, say hello in the comments (either at YouTube or here)! 🙂
